Oh no!

Scarlett's new favorite saying ... and the only response the Comcast Customer Service person could come up with when I canceled my service today.

"Oh no. We hate to lose you as a customer."

"Oh no. I can't believe they didn't offer you the preferred package."

"Oh no. That's too bad."

It's cute as hell when my 18-month old says it over and over. When the lady on the telephone does it, I want to strangle someone.

My computer has also mysteriously rebooted itself five times since I got to work, and some dude in another office called and gave me an a**chewing because he wasn't happy with the employee newsletter.

Happy Monday.

-- The B.S. Cafe is now serving a tiny dose of Monday-morning hostility.

P.S. What's Scarlett sitting on today? A tiny tractor. She's a bonnet and camouflage-wearing farmer. Oh no.

"What the F*ck?" Wednesday

Has anyone figured out WTF goes on in the mind of a three year old? The two's were pretty crazy...with the new baby and lots of temper tantrums and such...but as we approach three, I find that I am completely baffled by Anabella about 50% of the time.

Every day is a new slate when it comes to how things in Anabella's world should work. Did it work great yesterday? Tough sh*t. We are doing it completely different today.

For instance, Anabella is usually perfectly content to have her apples cut up. Today? NO. NO MOMMY! She wants the whole apple and there will be hell to pay if I get near it with a cutting utensil. Fine, so I hand her the apple.

About 10 minutes later, she declares she is done.

WTF? Not only did you not eat the apple, you mauled it to the point that no one else is going to eat the rest of it.

McIdiots
I would also like to know WTF is up with this? Based on my calculations, depending on how many nuggets you buy, the ratio of nugget to sauce fluctuates wildly and with no mathematical reasoning applied. Seems like a pretty random "policy" to me. If I buy two 10-piece meals instead of 1 20-piece and return that extra sauce that you think I don't need, will you give me 10 cents (plus tax) back? Idiots.

Suck it, O.J.

In honor of Thanksgiving, I will be posting things to be thankful for this week.

Today I am thankful for:

1. NO BOOK FOR O.J. -- thank you, thank you, thank you! No book, no interview...he can go crawl back under his rock now.
2. TomKat got married. Now my trashy magazines can focus on something more important like Paris Hilton puking onstage in Vegas or what Mathew McConaughey is up to this week.
3. My cousin Doug is safe and will hopefully be returning home from Iraq this January.

What are you thankful for?

Is it me or is it them?

Every few months, my friend Tracie and I pack up the kiddos and head to the Dollar Tree. It's fun to get out of the house, look at the silly/ridiculous/bizarre items, and of course, buy a few cheap things (I got pregnancy tests for a $1...woohoo!). Last Friday at the DT, we come across this sign. I found it very confusing. Does the manager understand the concept of the dollar store? Am I missing something here? Because last time I checked, everything was a $1, not just the items that are on the "promotion" rack.

So if I am having another moment here, please let me know. Muchas gracias.

Merry Halloween

While you are all getting ready for Halloween, here in Houston it's time for Christmas. (Sorry this photo is crap, but it was taken from inside my moving car, in the rain, with my Treo phone...so it's pretty good considering.) Yes, that is a pretty bow archway, flanked by two Christmas trees and a couple of wreaths. It's OCTOBER 26th. Ridiculous.

But I hate to be a scrooge, so I went ahead and bought you a Banana Republic. Enjoy!
